About TTI:
At its core, Tenebrous Tales leverages dynamic character cards and bots to track long-form stories and maintain consistency between chapters and characters. By doing so, players can expect an engaging narrative experience that evolves with their choices. This passion project is completely free, completely investor and self funded by a small indie studio. It is dedicated to offering an entertaining experience to its players without the need for any monetary involvement. The platform of choice for alpha testing is your own browser, with multiple AI models available to connect to. As AI technology advances, the team aspires to move the project to more suitable alternatives, making it accessible on various platforms instead of just OAI/GPT and NovelAI. The first installment of Tenebrous Tales journey involves a Lovecraftian horror story, where players find themselves navigating chaos and the unknown in a government overrun by ancient evils. With 30+ unique characters and a traditional 3 act story to be divided into chapters, there will be plenty of adventures waiting for those who dare to dive in. While the project’s driving force is Elodine, she does collaborate with several authors and consultants on developing ideas and characters. We take input from the community on what you want to see from this project and always strive to be in touch with how things are going.
This project leverages an opensource project known as OpenCharacters, originally developed by Rocca. Elodine has taken this front end and continued separate development and troubleshooting to meet the best use case as our game engine. We can not thank Rocca enough for helping to lay the groundwork we have been running with for months now. Because we use OpenC: we do not store any user data and have been able to provide more user friendly options for fixing common problems in AI.
Our background:
With backgrounds ranging from published writers, to expert code junkies and AI developers, TTI ties together great resources from indie devs and experienced pros alike. Where we lack specialty we speak to those who do! Every member of our team brings together a unique specialty. Despite this we face a cosmic truth: We can bring together as much industry experience as we like but we’re in a new field with no guiderails.
About Eli:
I’ve been a paid writer and consultant in the high fantasy field for almost a decade now. As of Nov-22 I’ve been taking classes and engaging in research (some of which has been discovered and published weeks ahead of tech giants like Microsoft!) to push AI to the absolute limits of the current technology. This research naturally fed into a desire to craft stories that brought together the proposal and development of TTI. As of 1-1-23 my full time job has been as a prompt engineer specializing in OAI, all of which translates to what I do here!
